Account settings

Your account settings and sign-in

Account settings belong to you, not to a workspace. Click your profile picture in the top right and choose Account Settings. The Settings page has two sections, Appearance and Email Notifications.

Theme

  1. Open Account Settings. Appearance opens first.
  2. Under Theme, choose Light, Dark, or System. System follows your device's setting.

The change applies right away to how Estate Bookkeeper looks on your device. A line under the choices shows which theme is in use.

Profile photo

Your photo is shown in account menus and collaborator lists.

  1. On Appearance, under Profile Photo, click Add Image, or Edit if you already have one.
  2. Choose a square PNG, JPEG, or WebP image up to 2 MB. It works best at 512 by 512 pixels and must be at least 256 by 256.
  3. Check the preview and click Confirm Upload.

Click Remove to delete your photo. If you sign in with Google and haven't uploaded a photo, your Google photo is used.

Email notifications

  1. Open Account Settings and choose Email Notifications.
  2. Turn Report generation alerts and Team activity updates on or off. Both start on.
  3. If Team activity updates is on, choose a Notification frequency: Immediately, Daily digest, or Weekly digest. Daily digest is the default.
  4. Click Save preferences.

With Team activity updates on and Daily digest selected, you get at most one email a day, sent at 6 PM UTC, that lists recent actions other members took in a workspace you belong to. No email is sent on days without such activity.

Sign-in codes, password reset codes, and workspace invitations are sent no matter how these preferences are set.

Sign in with Google

On the sign-in page, click Continue with Google. New users can also click Sign up with Google on the sign-up page.

Sign in with email and password

  1. On the sign-up page, enter your Full Name, Email, Password, and Confirm Password, then click Create Account. The password needs at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code sent to your email. Codes expire after 10 minutes. Click Resend code if you need a new one.

Once the code is accepted, Estate Bookkeeper signs you in. Next time, sign in with your email and password.

If you forget your password, click Forgot password? on the sign-in page, enter your email, click Send Reset Code, and follow the steps to set a new password.

Add a password to a Google account

If you already sign in with Google, you can add a password. Go to the sign-up page and create an account with the same email address. After you enter the code, the password is added to your existing account, with the same workspaces and data. From then on you can sign in either way. Forgot password? doesn't send a code to an account that has only Google sign-in, so use sign-up instead.
