Reports
Run a report
Open a matter and click the Reports tab, titled Financial Reports. Pick a report from the menu at the top. Its options, including dates, appear in the side panel. On a small screen the panel opens from a button named after the report, such as Inventory Report Options.
Every figure is calculated from the matter's transactions. A balance as of a date includes every transaction on that date.
Date fields start with defaults. As of Date, Start Date, and Opening Date default to the matter's earliest transaction date, or to today if there are no transactions. End Date and Closing Date default to today.
Inventory Report
A balance sheet as of one date. It lists ASSETS and LIABILITIES with each account's balance, then Total Assets, Total Liabilities, and Net Estate Value, which is total assets minus total liabilities. Use it for an inventory as of the date of death.
Options are As of Date and Show zero value accounts.
Income Statement
Income and expenses between two dates. It has an Income section and an Expenses section, each with a total, and NET INCOME at the bottom. Accounts that have transactions but no subaccounts start collapsed to their totals. Expand one to list its transactions.
Options are Start Date, End Date, and Show zero value accounts.
Combined Account
A full accounting for a period, for court filing. It has these sections:
- OPENING INVENTORY. Assets and liabilities as of the Opening Date.
- INCOME RECEIVED. Income after the Opening Date through the Closing Date.
- EXPENSES PAID. Expenses in the same period.
- CLOSING INVENTORY. Assets and liabilities as of the Closing Date.
- SUMMARY. Opening Inventory Value, Add Income Received, Less Expenses Paid, and Closing Inventory Value.
If opening value plus income minus expenses doesn't equal the actual closing value, the summary shows a note with the difference. It then lists the journal entries involving equity accounts in the period, such as distributions, that account for it.
Options are Opening Date, Closing Date, Show zero value accounts, and Show summary. Show summary is on by default.
Tagged Transactions
Transactions grouped by transaction tag, with Date, Description, From, To, and Amount columns and a subtotal for each tag. Choose one tag, or All Tags, in the Tag field, and set Start Date and End Date.
With All Tags, a transaction that has several tags appears under each of them, and transactions without tags appear last under Untagged.
